Curious to explore what the future of artificial intelligence (AI) might look like? Let’s get speculative together ! 

 

As part of a research study, we’re running a workshop to engage in futuristic AI scenarios, followed by a collaborative design activity.

 

We’re inviting people interested* in the following content areas to participate:

  • Environmental Studies

  • AI Ethics/Social Justice

  • Data Privacy

  • Embodied Interaction

  • Art & Community

  • Play

*No prior experience or expertise needed in the above areas—just an interest to discuss and willingness to explore!

eligibility:

You are eligible for this study if: 

  • You are over 18 years old

  • You can speak English fluently

  • No prior expertise in AI or computer science required

how will this work?

The Workshop:

  • This workshop consists of 1) reviewing speculative AI designs in a small focus group with others interested in the environment, data privacy, embodied interaction, and play and 2) a collaborative design activity.

  • Format: Virtually (on Zoom)

    • In the interest form, there is a place to request accommodations!

  • Time: 2 hours

The interview will be audio recorded. Recordings will be kept confidential and only anonymized transcripts will be seen outside of the research team. 

compensation

You will be compensated for your participation at $25/hr ($50 total), in the form of an Amazon gift card.

outcomes

Your participation will help us in developing AI design considerations and a speculative design toolkit, to be published as research.
